Who doesn’t love a yummy burger? Not summer? Who cares, you can make these on your indoor grill easily or by using the broiler function in your oven. I remember being pregnant with my 2nd child, 11 years ago and craving hamburgers. I mean like ALL the time, but not fast food burgers, only the homemade BBQ’d/broiled burgers would do. This was a must, I got really good and broiling burgers during the cooler months of my pregnancy. I’d mix them up and throw them under the broiler of my oven, give them 4-5 minutes on each side (150 degrees Fahrenheit is the internal temp you want) and they were perfectly done!
Though my need for burgers isn’t as strong, my love is!! I can’t think of another thing that gives me so much satisfaction, in making, preparing and then eating…..So delicious, so hearty, so satisfying. Sadly though since eating the Trim Healthy Mama way I’ve had to limit my burgers to lettuce wrapped burgers, though very tasty, they lack the whole experience….something is missing.
I’m so glad I came across the Smart Buns from the Smart Baking Company…..like a kid a Christmas really! I was able to make and assemble a truly legit burger and enjoy it like I was having a naughty white bread hamburger bun…..oh my word! Pinch me and tell me I’m dreaming, I still can’t get over how revolutionary this makes eating lower carb.
Chrissy’s Burgers (THM S):
Serving size 6-8 burgers
2 pounds hamburger
1 Tbsp onion power
2 Wasa crackers (crumbled)
2 tsp garlic powder
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tsp of chives or green onions
1 cup Sharp Cheddar Cheese aka Old Cheddar (grated)
- Turn on and clean your grill
- Add all ingredients to thawed hamburger meat, mix well
- Form your patties, to the size you’d like
- Grill to your preference
