From May to October you can walk into you local supermarket and find these SunGold Kiwifruit. I fell in love with them at first taste, they have a lovely mild flavor with a hint of lemon….and are delicious and nutritious. So partnering with Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit to do a sponsored post was a no-brainer. I only do sponsored posts for products I really think are high quality and use regularly so these little guys fit those requirements without issue. However, buyer beware they’re super yummy to just cut and scoop into with a spoon, so you’ll have to stop yourself from eating them all up too quickly. These Kiwi Chocolate Chip Muffins became a fast favorite in the Benoit (pronounced BenWah FYI) household. Using the Zespri SunGold Kiwifruit in this recipe creates a light sweet and slightly tangy outcome that everyone will enjoy. I love that these are a ‘no sugar’ added, ‘gluten free’, moist, flavorful, healthy treat that I can give to my family happily knowing that I’m nourishing their bodies and helping them make excellent food choices. Gotta Love That!!! <3
These little numbers are Trim Healthy Mama (learn more about THM here) approved in an S, aka ‘Satisfying’ setting (low carb, high fat) occasionally. Kiwi are technically an E, aka ‘Energizing’ (higher carb low fat) Fruit, but as they have such a low impact on the Glycemic Index and are so high in fiber we can enjoy 1 kiwifruit in an S or FP aka Fuel Pull (low fat & low carb) setting every once in an while!!! YAY!!!
So keeping that guideline in mind you should keep your serving size of my Kiwi Chocolate Chip Muffins to 2 or 2 1/2 max in a setting. A great meal pairing scenario would be to have a lovely Deep S meal followed by enjoying two of these little gems for dessert. Or you can grab 2 of these little guys as a snack or as a quick ‘grab and go’ breakfast paired with a yummy Chrissy’s Bullet Proof Coffee. That way you’ll have amply protein and lots of great flavor to satisfy your hunger!
